Autumn's End

This picturesque peninsula,
its birch leaves withering,
augurs a cold hereafter
to her.
She mocks this stale hereafter,
this prosaic peninsula,
with mordant, withering
dry wit.
"Nothing but withering
and disrepair hereafter."
So painted the peninsula
her pen.

Note: This is a 3 1/3-ina, a generalization of the tritina where there is an additional short line (1/3 as long as the other lines), and the end-word of this short line consists of the initial third of the preceding end-word. This may be the first 3 1/3-ina in the English language. It appeared in Nowhere at Home, Penteract Press, 2023.
