Ten Million Palindromic Sonnets

Generated from seven pairs of lines, each randomly chosen from a set of ten elements, these random sonnets pay homage to Raymond Queneau's Cent mille milliards de poèmes. This application allows users to play with the sonnets. It's possible to generate a random sonnet, change any of the lines in the displayed sonnet, and play at finding the first sonnet (the matrix sonnet, with index 1), the last sonnet (the sonnet with index 10,000,000), or any other sonnet in the collection. For this purpose, it's useful to note the effect that changing a line has on the index (or version number) of the sonnet: different lines have different effects.

Interactive Application

Explore the ten million palindromic sonnets. One can generate random sonnets, and modify individual lines. By clicking on the lines, one can navigate to a sonnet with any specific index.
